Agnès de Geoffrey coordinates the activities of the Centre d’Etudes et de Documentation Economiques, Juridiques et en Sciences Sociales (CEDEJ) in Khartoum. From 2006 to 2009, she was a Researcher for the URD Group URD Group (Urgence, Réhabilitation, Développement) in Khartoum. Before that, she served as a Consultant to the International Red Cross, focusing on strategic evaluation of ICRC operational position on IDPs at a global level with extensive internal and external interviews in Geneva and field visits to Chad (January 2009) and Colombia (March 2009). She also worked as a consultant in Afghanistan, on “Linking Relief Rehabilitation and Development,” a research study funded by the European Commission. She earned her PhD in Geopolitics from the University of Paris 8. Her dissertation Her doctoral dissertation is entitled Internally Displaced Populations at City Margins: Issues, Actors and Policies. A Comparative Study of Bogotá (Colombia) and Khartoum (Sudan).
